About Me:
Hi, my name is Ashley. I am photographer and owner of The Best Nest Portraits. I am a pregnancy and infant photographer based in Houston, TX and serve the Greater Houston Area. For an in depth look at how The Best Nest Portraits came to be, view my interview with Voyage Houston Magazine.

Personal Interests:
Outside of photography, I love to read both prose and comics, am a console gamer, and am obsessed with all things "nerdy". I love to travel and dream of seeing Europe. I have a dog named Daisy and a cat named Viola. I don't have any biological children, but I am a licensed foster parent. (I'll be blogging about this soon on a separate blog!) I am not married, but my boyfriend Will often comes along to assist with sessions. I am currently a nanny as my bread and butter but am looking forward to when I can throw myself into this business full time.

Qualifications:
I began learning photography when I joined the middle school yearbook staff, and remained on the yearbook staff through my high school graduation. I continued studying photography as an elective in college and am working on a Certificate of Completion at the Houston Center for Photography. I opened my business in 2014.

I have been working with infants as a daycare provider and nanny since graduating high school in 2008. I have hours in Early Childhood Development, Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS, and have taken multiple workshops in Newborn Photography. I am also First Aid/CPR Certified in the state of Texas.
