Baby Spencer Newborn Session

At a month old little miss Spencer was my oldest newborn ever and I'd be fibbing if I said I wasn't concerned. A typical newborn session is scheduled within the first 7-10 days of life because after that they are more self aware, they sleep less, they lose flexibility and gain strength. That's not to say that after 10 days you can't have your little miracle photographed, case en point.

Spencer was born with a condition that required surgery and a lot of medical attention for a few weeks immediately after her arrival, so we put off her portraits until she was home and healthy. I will admit, that going into her session I was pretty nervous. Older newborns have longer awake times and I just wasn't sure if any of the poses would hurt her incisions.

Turns out that Spencer was not only my oldest newborn so far in my career but I can genuinely say she was also the smoothest. I couldn't have asked for an easier session!
